Addiction Specialist and Family Practitioner

After completing his collegiate studies in Illinois in the late 1980s, Dr. Hoffman moved to Florida to begin his hospital residencies and has remained ever since.

Dr. Hoffman specializes in osteopathic medicine, which focuses on a patient’s overall health during medical treatment. He has adapted this personal, whole-body approach to develop specially-fitted treatment plans for patients from all walks of life.

Dr. Hoffman is professionally associated with the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Medicine. He earned his certification from the American Board of Addiction Medicine in 2010 and since that time has treated thousands of people for drug addictions of all kinds through his SoberDoc program.

Outside of his family practice, Dr. Hoffman has served as a team physician for the Orlando Magic since 2008, making sure the players are in peak condition so they can crush the competition. He currently resides in Winter Springs with his wife and three children.

Lake Howell Health Center

Dr. Hoffman spent 21 years as a family practitioner in Winter Park before founding the Lake Howell Health Center in 2010. His goal was to create a private practice that was affordable and convenient for his patients.

With his commitment to treating addiction and a growing trend of addiction issues, Dr. Hoffman designed additional convenience for his SoberDoc patients. Specialized waiting rooms allow higher-profile addiction patients to get treatment out of the public eye. Those who need counseling as part of their treatment can visit Lake Howell Health Center’s resident counselor Sam Beckman.

In addition to providing treatment for patients, Dr. Hoffman serves as the principal investigator for Lake Howell Health Center’s TRY Research program, which conducts clinical trials of new drugs. This allows him to study the effects of new medications before they are released to the general public.
