Addiction Treatment Services in Orlando, FL

Medical Detox

Effective treatment begins with medical detox. It is the first step in addiction treatment because it rids a patient’s body of the abused substances. Detox sets the foundation for a long-lasting recovery. After detox, medications and outpatient treatment and counseling assist patients in maintaining a sober lifestyle.

It is common for individuals to experience withdrawal symptoms during detox. Symptoms may include insomnia, nausea, muscle weakness and anxiety. It is important to remember that these withdrawal symptoms are temporary.

A combination of medication and time can reduce—and eventually end—painful withdrawal symptoms.

Rehab

Dr. Hoffman provides outpatient rehab programs to assist in addiction recovery. Outpatient rehab is beneficial because it allows patients to continue their normal daily routines throughout treatment. Outpatient rehab patients live at home and receive effective medical treatment during appointments.

Many addiction sufferers have families, jobs or other activities that require their time and attention. Seeking treatment does not mean patients must neglect their responsibilities or personal lives. Dr. Hoffman makes it simple to continue working, going to school or caring for your family with outpatient rehab treatment.

Inpatient rehab is another treatment option. It is often best suited for more severe addiction cases. It is also helpful for patients struggling with other disorders besides substance abuse.

Addiction Medicine

Medication can have multiple benefits during addiction treatment and recovery. Dr. Hoffman’s treatment technique uses medication to manage withdrawal symptoms and ease addiction cravings.

Examples of Addiction Treatment Medications:

  • Suboxone
  • Buprenorphine
  • Vivitrol
  • Sublocade
  • Probuphine

These medications should be taken under medical supervision as some of them are highly addictive.

  • Suboxone treats addiction to narcotics like opioids. It is helpful for patients who want to stop their opioid abuse without the side effects of withdrawal and cravings. Suboxone has fewer negative impacts than Methadone.
  • Buprenorphine is also used in the treatment of opioid addiction. It is helpful for outpatient rehab patients because it can be administered at home.
  • Vivitrol is administered through injection by a medical professional. It helps prevent drug relapses.
  • Probuphine is a discrete arm implant of four soft flexible 1-inch rods which steadily provides Buprenorphine into the patient’s system over a six-month period of time. This is a great choice for patients who travel for months at a time. This is meant for patients who are maintained between 2 mg and 8 mg of sublingual Buprenorphine.
  • Sublocade is a subcutaneous monthly injection of Buprenorphine which typically produces higher blood levels and therefore a better opioid blockade than SL Buprenorphine (Suboxone, etc).
  • Laboratory Services

Laboratory services are an important addition to outpatient treatment. They offer accountability, help ensure medical stability and prevent relapses. Dr. Hoffman’s addiction treatment program involves regular drug tests to monitor patients’ health and well-being. After the initial detox process, these onsite tests help patients maintain a drug-free life.

Clinical Trials Testing

Dr. Hoffman and the Lake Howell Health Center team offer onsite clinical trials for up-and-coming treatment medications and methods. They perform clinical studies and trials for various conditions, including opioid addiction and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

Dr. Hoffman is always willing to listen and not rush out because he’s busy. He takes time to answer questions and gives great feedback.

Mental Health Counseling

Mental health counseling is an essential supplement to detox and medication. While detox and medication treat the more immediate impacts of addiction, counseling is useful when working toward a long-lasting recovery. It helps recovering addicts re-adjust to living a healthy life without drugs.

Mental health counseling helps patients understand the root of their addiction.

Patients may benefit from group counseling and/or one-on-one sessions with addiction counselors. Independent sessions help patients understand their specific problems and get solutions. Group counseling may involve sessions with family, loved ones, or others recovering from addiction. Each person’s addiction is different, so it is important to determine which type of counseling feels right for you.

Executive Services

Anyone struggling with an addiction deserves confidentiality. The team at SoberDoc ensures that every patient’s privacy is maintained while they seek treatment. However, certain “high profile” patients like business executives, professional athletes and politicians may require a higher level of privacy. Our Sober Executive Recovery Service offers a discreet entrance and waiting area for those who need more anonymity.
